YOKOHAMA’S ADVAN TO COME FACTORY-EQUIPPED ON NEW BMW X3

Yokohama Rubber will supply its flagship ADVAN Sport V105 tyres to BMW’s new X3 model as an original equipment.

This is the first time that Yokohama Rubber has supplied tires as original equipment for a BMW model. Initially, it will be used in North America and will be released gradually in markets around the world. It will come equipped with tires in one of two sizes—225/60R18 104W or 245/50R19 105W, the latter features Yokohama Rubber’s run-flat technology.

The ADVAN Sports V105 tyre is developed primarily for use on high-power premium automobiles. The tyres being supplied for the new BMW X3 were jointly developed with BMW and bear BMW’s star marking of approval on the tyre sidewall.

Yokohama also supplies its high-performance racing tyres to BMW racing. Schnitzer Motorsport’s BMW M3 captured the first World Touring Car Championship in 1987 and also won the European Touring Car Championship in 1988. BMWs running on Yokohama tyres have also won a combined total of five 24-Hours Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours races, the company said.
