NEW WEAR-RESISTANT VAN TYRE FROM YOKOHAMA

Yokohama Rubber introduces BluEarth-Van RY55 tyre equipped with BluEarth tyre technology offering wear resistance.

The new tyre will hit the market in March 2018 and will be available in Europe, Asia (excluding Japan), Oceania, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa. There will be a total of 30 sizes ranging from 225/55R17C 109/107H to 185R14C 102/100S.

Besides wear resistance, the new tyre also offers increased wet grip performance and fuel efficiency with the development of a special tread pattern. The tire also features shoulders with deep lugs and sipes that enhance steering stability and drainage while helping to prevent uneven wear, the company said.

“The BluEarth-Van RY55 is made from a triple polymer to boost the tyre’s durability and resistance to uneven wear and silica to enhance fuel efficiency and wet grip performance. It has an optimal surface contact shape and more uniform surface contact pressure. As a result, the new tyre is over 50% more wear resistant than the existing RY818 model. It also has a 9% shorter wet braking distance and reduces rolling resistance by 19%,” Yokohama said.

The BluEarth brand includes BluEarth-A, BluEarth RV-02 and BluEarth-Es ES32.
