HANKOOK APPOINTS SOO-IL LEE AS NEW CEO

Hankook Tire has appointed Soo-Il Lee as President & Chief Executive Officer with effect from January 1, 2018. Currently, he is the Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer / Chief Corporate Management Officer of the company.

He joined Hankook way back in 1987. He was the Managing Director of Hankook France from 2001 to 2003. In 2006, he became Vice President & Director of Global Marketing Department.

He had held various other positions such as Chief Operating Officer of Hankook Tire America (from 2009 to 2012) and China (from 2013 to 2016). Besides, he was the global Headquarter’s Chief Marketing & Corporate Management Officer (since 2017).

Along with Lee’s appointment, the company has restructured its organisation further to respond to the needs of the global markets. Chief Executive Officer & Vice Chairman Seung-Hwa Suh, who has been serving in this position since 2007, will retire and continue as a counsel to Hankook Tire’s management.
