MICHELIN-TIA SCHOLARSHIP CALLS FOR APPLICATION

The Michelin-The Tire Industry Association (TIA) Scholarship, a total of $6,250 to selected students, for 2018-2019 is open now. Under the scholarship, one $3,000 award (for four years not exceeding $12,000) and two $1,625 awards (not to exceed $6,500 each for four years), for tuition, fees, and books, will be distributed. 

The deadline to submit the online portion of the application is January 31, 2018. (www.scholarshipprograms.org) The deadline to provide additional required materials is 5 pm EST on January 31, 2018. The additional materials required must be mailed to- Michelin TIA Scholarship, PO Box 1465, Taylors, SC 29687.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be part-time employees or the dependent children of full-time employees of TIA member tyre dealers. Dependent children include natural children, adopted children, legal wards or resident step-children. The employee must be employed by the firm at the time of application. (Michelin North America employees and dependent children are not eligible).

Applicants must be high school seniors planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school and must possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

All recipients must be full-time each semester and work toward an undergraduate degree.

The Michelin-TIA Scholarship was started in 2000. More than $2,56,000 has been awarded to 55 recipients so far.
