ERTMA REPORTS FALL IN ALL SEGMENT

The members of the European Rubber & Tyre Manufacturers’ Association reported a decline in replacement sales for all segment in the second quarter of 2017, according to the association.

“ The second quarter of 2017 slowed down significantly compared to the first three months of the year, with a negative performance for all segments, and particularly in the consumer segment,” said ETRMA.

Replacement consumer segment fell 6% to 46.6 million units in the quarter as against 49.32 million units in the same quarter of 2016. Replacement Agri tyres  and declined by 4% to 376000 units, while sales of motorcycle and scooter tyres too decreased by 4% to 2.55 million units in the Q2, 2017.

Sales of truck tyre in replacement market stood at 2.24 million units, a fall of 1% as against 2.27 million units in the Q2,2016.

Apollo Vredestein, Bridgestone Europe, Brisa, Cooper Tires, Continental, Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe, Hankook, Marangoni, Michelin, Mitas, Nokian Tyres, Pirelli and Trelleborg Wheel Systems are the members of the association.
