MICHELIN TO GET SR FROM RUSSIA’S NIZHNEKAMSKNEFTEKHIM

Russian rubber and petrochemicals manufacturer Nizhnekamskneftekhim has signed an agreement to provide Synthetic Rubber (SR) to Michelin. The arrangement was evolved at a meeting held in late June.
A delegation from the Russian company, including Vladimir Busygin, chairman of the board of directors and other senior officials, visited Michelin’s R&D center in Clermont-Ferrand, France to discuss the supply of new brands of synthetic rubber to the tyre maker.
Michelin president and CEOJean-Dominique Senard was present at the meeting. Jean Christophe Guerin, senior vice-president and executive committee member; Luc Muenge, vice president for global procurement; and Laszlo Toth, vice president of raw materials procurement were the other representatives present from the side of the tyre manufacturer.
Founded in 1967 and located in the Republic of Tartarstan, Nizhnekamskneftekhim produces synthetic rubbers and plastics. Commodities produced by the company cover general purpose and specialty synthetic rubber; polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene and ABS plastics, monomers that are used as a feedstock to produce rubbers and plastics, and ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, alpha-olefins and surfactants petrochemicals.
