BRIDGESTONE HIKES WINTER TYRE PRICES IN JAPAN

Bridgestone increased prices of its winter tyres for passenger cars and vans in Japan, effective September 1,2017.

Citing the increased raw material costs, the Japanese company said the price increase ratio (average) will be 6%.

“Bridgestone has been working on absorbing impacts of rising tire material prices through productivity improvements, cost reductions, and other measures. However, it was determined that it would be difficult to absorb the impacts through the company’s efforts alone, leading us to make the decision to raise price of winter tyres for passenger cars and vans in Japan,” said the company.
