GRAND CONCLUSION FOR ATRC 2017

ATRC 2017 has lived up to its brand reputation as the biggest tyre industry conference in the region, both in quality and in numbers. With over 200 delegates and 21speakers from across the globe, the two-day event concluded on June 17 at Hyatt Regency in Chennai.

Participants were unanimous in their appreciation of the conference and its organisation. There were  high praises for ATRC Chairman Zachariah George for the quality of presentations and also the choice of speakers. Excellence in organisation and the opportunity for networking was reflected in the way they responded.

ATRC 2017, themed on Breakthrough Technology for Sustainable Future, started off with a solemn tribute to ABM’s iconic leader John S. Powath, CEO, who departed on March 28. It was John who founded ATRC and took it to its present heights.

The presence of high profile speakers like Erich Nesselhauf, MD of Daimler India Commercial Vehicle Division, Satish Sharma, Chairman of ATMA, and President – APMEA of Apollo Tyres, and Harm Voortman, CEO of VMI Group, Holland, made the inaugural session a top quality opening. The speakers were emphatic on their call for advanced technology and economically and environment friendly sustainability.

There were six technical sessions touching on various areas of tyre making technology, like Adaptation Of Smart Technology For Automation, Smart Processing Innovations, Facilitating Consistency, Accuracy And Quality, Contributions To Sustainability, Tyre Manufacturing And Evaluation, and Smart Testing And Energy Saving.

Each session was chaired by leading experts from Indian tyre manufacturing companies like Apollo Tyres, MRF, JK Tyre and CEAT.

The speakers included industry leaders and experts from global companies. They came from across the world – USA, Europe and the Far East.
