MICHELIN TO LAUNCH FOUR CYCLE TYRES THIS MAY

This year Michelin will introduce four new mountain cycle  tyres ranges tailored to cover a broad spectrum of Cross-Country and All-Mountain usages. 

The company will start selling Michelin JET XCR, Michelin FORCE XC, Michelin FORCE AM and Michelin WILD AM  in May 2017,  with the ‘Competition’ ranges, followed by the ‘Performance’ ranges during 2018.

“Because the demands made on tyres vary depending on their specific end-use, Michelin has produced a new collection of high-tech, performance tyres that deliver excellent grip and strength to cover an exceptionally wide variety of terrain, said Michelin.

Tailored to address the needs of XC and All-Mountain riders, who account for 80 percent of the mountain bike market, they will come in a choice of three versions – XC (Cross-Country), XCR (Cross-Country Race) and AM (All-Mountain) – and provide unbridled enjoyment thanks to their combination of innovation and high performance.

In the course of their development, Michelin worked closely with its partners from the world of competition, including the most experienced teams and riders from each discipline. This co-development approach proved especially valuable due to the fact that these ranges introduce two new technologies, namely Gum X and Shield Technology.

Another specific, key, performance-enhancing feature is the formulation of their respective compounds with different ones used in the front and rear tyres, said Michelin.
