Hankook’s DynaSYNC Tire Wins Design Award

Hankook Tire Corp.'s colorful off-road concept tire, DynaSYNC, has won the Red Dot Design Award 2016 for design Concept.

Developed in partnership with Vibram, the DynaSYNC is designed for performance in diverse off-road conditions. It features a tread pattern based on Vibram’s Carrarmato for better traction on mountainous terrain and honeycomb structure grooves to help prevent puncture, improve shock absorption and provide better handling. The sidewall comes in a variety of color compounds, allowing car owners to match the tires to their car’s body color, Hankook said.

“Receiving the award solidifies Hankook Tire’s commitment and determination to lead future driving through progressive innovation and creative design,” said Seung Hwa Suh, vice chairman and CEO of Hankook Tire Corp.

A total of 4,698 entries from 60 countries participated in the international product design competition. The award ceremony will take place at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore on Sept. 22, 2016.
