Project with Annual Production of 50,000 tons/year of NdBR is Completed

On May 25, the production line transformation project with an annual production of 50,000 tons/year of Neodymium-based cis-1,4-Polybutadiene Rubber (NdBR) of Petrochina Sichuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was officially completed.

The project was launched in November 2016. It mainly produces high-end rubber products with neodymium neodecanoate, aluminum alkyl, etc. as catalysts. It is the first time in China to introduce Russian NdBR technology. NdBR has a higher cis-1,4 structure, and can produce a self-compensating strain-induced crystallization like natural rubber. 

In addition, the high regularity also allows the product to have higher wear resistance, fatigue resistance, and excellent resistance to cut growth, making it the preferred rubber blend for high performance tires.
