Zhongce Rubber Signed Important Agreement for Developing New Material

Lately, a Technical Assistance Agreement was signed among Zhongce Rubber Group, Shandong Dawn Polymer Co., Ltd. and Beijing University of Chemical Technology for cooperation on the application of thermoplastic elastomer DVA on the gas-barrier layer of passenger car tire and new bicycle tire tube.

DVA is a new type of elastomer material. When the dynamic vulcanized DVA is used as gas-barrier material for passenger car tires, the tire weight will be significantly lowered and thus the rolling resistance is also effectively reduced. The thickness of the gas-barrier layer is lowered from 1.0~1.5mm to 0.2~0.3mm, but the air tightness is improved by 7~10 times and the durability is improved by 50%. All performances of DVA are obviously superior to the brominated butyl rubber that is currently used for bicycle tube for it makes thermoplasticity quickly extruded and the joint rapidly formed by heatsealing, which not only reduces the production technology process and greatly promotes the production efficiency, but also prolongs the service life of the products.

Shandong Dawn Polymer will provide Zhongce Group with samples as agreed, and then Zhongce will finish manufacturing the sample tire. Beijing University of Chemical Technology is responsible for assisting those two companies with the related formula design.
