Pirelli Plant Celebrates Milestone

Pirelli Tire North America’s Mexican plant has reached production goals ahead of schedule. The plan, located in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico, has produced 5 million tires.

"We were able to produce five million tires in record time, thanks to the work of our team, which reflects the quality and commitment not only to Pirelli, but also with Mexico. We thank all partners and local suppliers who have made this great achievement a reality for the rubber industry,” said Thomas Grávalos, CEO and managing director of Pirelli Mexico, during a special 5 millionth tire celebration.

Also on hand to celebrate the plant’s milestone were government officials and other Pirelli executives.

Pirelli opened its Silao plant in May 2012. Pirelli’s first Mexican plant, and 22nd plant worldwide, produces tires for all of North America.
