Toyo Reshuffles Teams

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. has made several personnel, officer and organizational changes, the tiremaker said.

Many of the announced changes came in the company’s seismic isolation rubber division. These changes come following a controversy where the company installed defective earthquake shock absorbers in dozens of buildings in Japan.

Personnel changes directly affecting the North American market are:

Takuji Yamamoto, former general manager of the North America business unit, is now general manager of the company’s seismic isolation rubber division.

Tomoshige Mizutani, president of Toyo Tire Holdings Americas and Toyo Tire U.S.A., will now also serve as a senior corporate officer for the company.

Takashi Shimizu will take over Yamamoto’s role and serve as general manager of the North American business unit.

These personnel changes and others are all effective July 1.
