Yokohama Mississippi Plant Donates to Local Colleges

Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Mississippi donated a total of $500,000 to two local colleges.

The subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber Co. donated $250,000 each to Mississippi State University and East Mississippi Community College as part of the manufacturing facility’s program of making contributions to the location community, the company stated. The funds are planned to be used for facility renovations and to support the schools’ scholarship programs.

The donations were formally presented to school officials at a presentation ceremony hosted at East Mississippi Community College on May 13.

Yokohama’s manufacturing facility in Mississippi is scheduled to roll out the first pre-production tire in May and mass production will start in October.
