Bridgestone Shares Environmental Practices at Conference

Bridgestone Americas shared its efforts in sustainable manufacturing at the 2015 National Zero Waste Business Conference in Los Angeles. Diana Scher, manager of environmental affairs at Bridgestone, discussed the company’s zero waste program as part of the Pieces of Zero panel.
U.S. Zero Waste Business Council hosts the National Zero Waste Business Conference annually with the goal of helping companies identify waste reduction methods.
"Bridgestone has many innovative national and global sustainability efforts underway, and we are honored to be included in the conversation and to share our lessons learned,” said Scher.
Scher shared details about the tiremaker’s Tires4ward recycling program as well as its zero waste to landfill achievements at its Wilson, N.C., LaVergne, Tenn., and Aiken, S.C., plants. Additionally Bridgestone Americas Technical Center is a zero waste to landfill facility.
Bridgestone has outlined a long-term environmental vision to build products made from fully renewable and sustainable materials by the year 2050.
